Notice to Market
Minerva S.A. (“Minerva” or “Company”), one of the leaders in South America in the production and sale of fresh beef, live cattle and cattle byproducts, with operations also in the beef, pork and poultry processing segment, hereby informs its shareholders and the market in general that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced yesterday the temporary suspension of Brazilian fresh beef. According to the U.S. authorities, the suspension is the result of non-compliance identified in Brazilian fresh beef, and therefore is not related to a sanitary problem but to inspection deficiencies of some Brazilian units in identifying such non-compliance.
Fresh beef sold by Minerva’s Brazilian units to the United Stated represented around 1.5% of the Company’s 1Q17 consolidated exports and are being redirected to our units in Uruguay until the ban is suspended, and therefore it does not impact Minerva’s export volume.
The Company hereby reaffirms its commitment to maintain its shareholders and the market in general informed about any developments on this matter and any other matters that may be relevant to the market.
