World Organization for Animal Health reaffirms Brazil’s classification
Barretos, February 13, 2013 – Minerva S.A. (BOVESPA: BEEF3; Bloomberg: BEEF3.BZ; Reuters: BEEF3.SA), one of the leaders in South America in the production and sale of fresh beef, live cattle and cattle byproducts, with operations also in the beef, pork and poultry processing segments, informs that the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) reaffirmed Brazil‘s classification as a country with insignificant risk of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) in an official communication, confirming that the country is free from this disease. In addition, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture continues to provide all necessary clarifications for any country that has requested information on the event, with the objective of ratifying the OIE‘s decision.
